Delhi Police detained Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke and All India Students' Association president Neha Bora on Friday, October 16, ahead of a planned 'Lehra Do Tiranga' march the party had called at Central Park in Connaught Place. Dipke was picked up from his home in Jhandewalan, while Bora was detained in Mandi House, both in central Delhi, before the gathering could get underway.

Police said the New Delhi Municipal Council had not granted permission for the assembly, the stated basis for stepping in before the march began. The protest had been organised by the CJP as part of its ongoing campaign demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

Hours after the detention, an account identified as being run by Bora's social media team posted on X saying she had been taken to an undisclosed location without her phone, and appealed to Delhi Police to disclose where she was being held. The post, shared around 8:39 pm, left her exact whereabouts unconfirmed at the time.

The detentions drew criticism from former Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin, who condemned the action and publicly asked about the whereabouts of the two activists, adding a prominent voice from outside Delhi to the reaction over how the march was shut down before it could even begin.
